You will get all the good ones, 50 to 70 on average (except for shots with closed eyes, etc.).

It all depends on the pace of the shooting and posing, as well as the need to move around the location (outdoors) or to set up complex light, which takes time.

I am convinced that quality is more important, because there is no sense in uploading to social networks or printing a hundred images from one photo shoot (except for wedding, perhaps).

Check out my article on high-end retouching to get the most detailed insight. In short, it is skin cleanup, elimination of minor flaws (pimples, wrinkles, shadows under the eyes, red eyes, etc.), correction of the body shape (if necessary).

Quality retouching is a long and tedious process, taking much more time than the shoot itself.
The execution time depends on several factors (complexity, number of images, my workload) and is agreed upon in advance. On average it takes 1-2 weeks to retouch a series of images. If you need the final photos urgently, please inform me in advance, before booking a shoot.

By light portrait retouching I mean cleaning only large noticeable skin imperfections. It is the best option for portraits shot with soft, diffused light and model tests where you want to preserve the model’s natural appearance.

Detailed retouching is required for shots with studio light, which forms a beautiful picture but can also emphasize skin imperfections, especially in close-ups. It’s tedious work on each image of bringing it to the glossy commercial look. Primarily required for beauty photos. Considering the sharpness, detail and size of the originals, as well as the model’s skin condition, detailed retouching takes from 2 hours per shot.

To ensure a successful result, I would advise to hire a makeup artist, especially when shooting in a studio with powerful artificial light. For street photography this point is less critical, but only if you have really clear skin and/or can do quality makeup on your own. However, as practice shows, not all women know how to do it, besides, photo makeup is much different from everyday makeup.

It is possible if they are high-level professionals with extensive experience in photoshoots. But I’m confident in my team, we always work for the best result. It’s a pity when the photos are great (in terms of light, angle, composition), but the hair and makeup are not, right? It is better to prepare for shooting directly in studio dressing room — not to be late and not to get wet on the way (in case of bad weather).

The choice of location depends on the aims and goals of the shoot, budget and season. For example, if you need model tests, the whole shoot or the main part of it should be done in a studio.

If you’re not a model and just need some portraits, an outdoor street shoot is the best option during the warmer months. You’ll feel more confident than in a studio, plus you will be able to save a little on rent:) Although for street photography you should consider the possible cost of an assistant (on a sunny day it’s hard to work without one) and transfer if the chosen location is somewhere out of city or far from the center. You’ll also have to check the weather forecast carefully the day before.

Personally, I prefer studio shooting more for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is comfortable working conditions: the studio is always warm and bright, regardless of the season and time of day. Accordingly, the shooting can be planned in advance, without fear of rain, cold or early darkness. Secondly, in the studio, an experienced photographer has complete control over the light — no need to wait for a cloud to cover the sun or call an assistant with a diffuser or umbrella. We can set up the light schemes we want and get the best quality shots possible. Thirdly, there are no strangers in the studio, no one interferes, and if the shooting is of an erotic nature, you do not need to travel far out of town, waking up at five in the morning, suffer from mosquito bites or hide from the gaze of passers-by. This is how I see the advantages of working in a studio.

When I organize shoots for my own portfolio, I come up with the concept myself, then select models for its realization (less often — vice versa). I get inspiration and new ideas by looking through photo sites, sometimes clips and movies. I should say that picking an idea is not the hardest thing to do — it is more difficult to find the necessary props for its realization (sure, if the concept is quite unusual and exclusive).

If I do the shoot for you, there are several options. First of all, you are always welcome to suggest your ideas. Secondly, we can reproduce something from my portfolio. Thirdly, we can just shoot some simple portraits.

But if you want something exclusive and original, we can come up with a suitable concept together. I have a huge number of references with different makeups, hairstyles and creative lighting schemes.

Most of the people I photograph are not are professional models. Of course, during the shooting process I will select the most attractive angles to show you from the best side. But for a successful result, you’ll have to do some preparation work.

Find and watch some posing tutorials on Youtube, practice at least 15 mins a day during a week. Remember that posing also includes working with facial expressions. The result will be much better than without training, because you will already have a certain a set of poses that you can perform in front of the camera, and learn how to better control facial expressions to convey different emotions. This is especially useful for a studio shooting and will allow you to immediately get right into the process.

Yes, sure. Typically, these are business portrait shoots or model tests for male models.
Sometimes I also shoot professional athletes, with more emphasis on the physique.

If you have problematic skin and we are talking about a personal photo shoot in a studio, the result of which will be a series of images, you can use the services of a makeup artist. Especially for close-up portraits. The most common problem is skin irritation after shaving, so it’s better to shave the day before or in the morning and schedule the shoot for the evening.

If it's a corporate shooting of business portraits, where each participant needs only one final photo, it will be more rational to do without a makeup artist.
